Yes, the FN Rush 9Ti looks like just about every other full-size 9mm suppressor. In terms of size and shape, you’d be forgiven for thinking that nothing differentiates it from a dozen or more 9mm cans on the market. But you need to look a little deeper to see what FN has done here.
FN has made suppressors, off and on, for years. But those were usually for military and other contract clients. They didn’t start selling suppressors to the commercial market until December of 2022 when they announced the Rush 9Ti.
Unlike a lot of all aluminum suppressors, the Rush 9Ti uses a “hybrid” design. The tube is titanium to save weight and the first two blast baffles are made of stainless steel for durability as they take up most of the force of the blast each time you pull the trigger. The rest of the baffles in the stack are aluminum, again, to keep overall weight down.
The Rush 9Ti also has a unique piston design. A small set screw keeps the locking ring in place while shooting. The Rush also uses an O-ring to seal the space between the housing and the booster. That keeps most of the gasses from blowing back onto your reflex sight and your face.
If you want to shoot the full auto-rated Rush 9Ti on a sub gun or rifle, you don’t have to remove the piston, you can just lock down and keep it from moving with a supplied Allen wrench.
My Rush 9Ti is the Cerekoted flat dark earth version and matches perfectly with Dan’s 509 Midsize Tactical of the same shade(s). But it’s also available in basic black if that’s important to you.
No, the Rush 9Ti isn’t modular. It’s a full-size (7.3-inches) full-auto rated 9mm can. But it’s light weight and unique piston ensure that it feels good on your pistol and does an excellent job of doing what you want a can to do most…protect your hearing.
