Gov. Knucklehad Says He’s a Better Shot Than All of His Critics

“Both you and Vice President [Kamala] Harris have leaned into your gun ownership. She’s got a Glock and she says she’s not afraid to use it on intruders. You’re out hunting pheasants,” Behar began. “Is that enough to convince people there’s a middle ground on this issue? Because right now right-wingers are coming after you for how you handle your shotgun.”

Walz wasted no time before answering, “Well, I can shoot better than all of them. I got the trophies to prove it.”

Once the laughter died down, the politician further explained his history with guns.

“I’m a veteran, I am a hunter,” he said. “I grew up in a small town of 400 people and this was a simpler time, a different time, we took our shotguns in our cars and after football practice we went out hunting. I’ve been doing this my whole life.”

While he and Harris want to “protect the Second Amendment,” he noted that their “first responsibility” is to their kids and their safety “so they’re not shot dead in schools.”

“These are folks that cosplay with the guns — there is no reason we need assault weapons on our streets or in our schools,” he said. “We are both gun owners — first time maybe on the Democratic ticket in modern times.”

  1. Is this the geriatric last gasp of ego made famous by Joey “Push-ups behind the gym, listen fat!” Biden?
Doubling down on your bullshit you couldn’t possible back up is the thing insecure bullies and deranged children do when called out.

  2. Hey Tim where you going with that gun in your hand
If I can get the thing loaded
I’m going out to shoot some pheasants
I hear they all over the land

He says he’s a better shot
    than you and me
    truth is he’s not
    better get behind a tree

  3. “These are folks that cosplay with the guns…”

At first, I read that as Shooting News Weekly commentary referring to Kamala and “Tranz the kids” Tim.

    1. Is there a segment of gun owners that cosplay? sure. Do a lot of them know how to handle their firearms better than many that claim hunting or veteran status? Yeah very much yes. I always find “expert” opinions especially galling when they suppress actual learning and experience.

  4. “Well, I can shoot better than all of them. I got the trophies to prove it.”

    Really?

I gurantee you are not better than me, and I don’t need a defenseless bird and a ‘show up and participate’ trophy to prove it. Plus, i know how to load my guns and don’t need to go out and cosply in a fake hunting trip for the cameras with all new gear and clothes.

    You are a fake Walz.

  5. What utter horse hockey.

“First in modern times” that both Dem nominees were gun owners? Easily disproven. JFK was a life member of the NRA, and LBJ hunted all his life (including hunting deer on his Central Texas ranch while he was in office).

Let’s assume, arguendo, that Walz maybe got a trophy in his youth for shooting (I know, I know, the man is such a pathological liar that it’s highly unlikely, but go with it for a minute). All of us here know that shooting is a perishable skill, especially as we get older. His recent episode shows that whatever skills he claims he once had have have in fact perished, or at least have gone very, very stale. That’s why he’ll never accept the various challenges out there that he prove his shooting skills: he knows he’d fail worse than Kamala on Fox.

And the old canard that veteran = proficient with firearms is just as bad. Obviously, there are some operators / soldiers / veterans who are superbly skilled, but Walz is a walking example of why it’s not necessarily a given.
