Dan and I are both fans of North American Arms’ diminutive rimfire revolvers. I have this (slightly customized) little NAA-22LR model that I can literally carry in my hat or on a belt buckle. Dan owns the slightly larger PUG-T that’s chambered for the more stout .22 WMR round.
Either gun carries very nicely in a jeans fob pocket. And don’t underestimate these little beauties. They’re just the thing to slip into your shorts or slacks when you just don’t feel like strapping on your everyday carry piece. They may not be as fast or as powerful as your EDC, but they’re a darn sight better than nothing.
NAA mini revolvers are also tons o’ fun at the range, too. You probably won’t be ringing steel with them at 100 (let alone 50) yards, but as an up-close-and-personal, bad breath distance gun. And even if you are toting your old reliable EDC gat, an NAA makes a great BUG choice.
The ones made today are much better made than the ones from the late 1990s, that’s for sure. I really don’t miss the one I had back then, machining, fit and finish are much nicer now.
The color case hardened one costs 400 bucks (an over 100 dollar premium over the standard ones), though, so that pretty finish isn’t cheap.
Oh, and Jeremy (who may, or may not have, spoken in class today), while the frame won’t rust, the springs inside are carbon steel, so you may wish to keep them oiled to keep them from rusting.
I keep mine in a Kydex neck holster while sleeping, all I need to do is bring a hand up under my sleeping shirt, and there it is, read-to-rock…
