“The thesis for [Arms Around America] is understanding that there are huge divides between people who want to hold on to their guns and people who want there to be less guns and more restrictions,” says [performance artist Dan] Froot.
His goal is to bring both sides together and notes that there is one area that most people agree on.
“Every gun owner I speak with believes that gun violence is bad. And so that’s our common ground.”
One way to highlight commonalities is to foster a community-based discussion right before the conclusion of each show.
“As part of the performance, we have eight local people on stage sitting at a kitchen table who comment on the performance and its relevance to their lives and their communities,” says Froot.

“Every gun owner I speak with believes that gun violence is bad. And so that’s our common ground.”
This guy is a moron.
Yup, crime is bad. Sometimes one needs to utilize righteous violence to prevent becoming a victim, or aiding someone else. These people don’t seem to understand the difference between violence and crime. Any child who has taken a Karate class understands this difference.
Just to get this straight for what really happened… this guy ‘convenes a panel’ of 8 local people (7 of the 8 do not actually own guns – only one of them actually does) that he says are gun owners and then (asking the 8) claims “Every gun owner I speak with believes that gun violence is bad. And so that’s our common ground.” so he can charge people “$35, $10 with ticket code LOVE” to view this ‘performance’. And in reality he actually only spoke to one gun owner.
The Left-wing death cult – always ready to make a buck from tragedy while clearly demonstrating they do not understand the excuse-guise they give so they can profit from tragedy.
Morons, every one
Mayhap he’s from a line of snake oil salesmen, and he concocted a slick grift to pad his retirement fund. He doesn’t believe his schtick any more than we do. The marks are the morons.
Just a thought, but sometimes I’m too cynical.
