There are few guns as versatile as the shotgun. Shooting everything from bird shot to OO buck to slugs, you can use them to for hunting a huge range of creatures and their devastatingly effective for personal and home defense. But it takes a lot of powder to propel a load of birdshot, let alone buck or a 1-ounce (or more) slug. That means bigger booms. And that’s why suppressing your shotgun is such a good idea.
But…there aren’t a lot of options out there and they’ve been limited in the choke patterns available. That, however, has changed with JK Armament’s 195 Line of suppressors.
First, JK makes three 195 models. The ones most shooters will be interested in will be the 8.25-inch VERSAX 12 GA ($599) and the 12.2-inch SGX ($899) we shot here. The third model in the 195 line is the SBSX Breacher ($1099) that’s designed for high flow and harder tactical use.
The 195 SGX is basically a longer version of the shorter 195 VERSAX 12 GA can, giving you more baffles and more configuration options. You can make your 195 SGX as short as 3.75 inches, as long as 11.75 inches, or anywhere in between.
What’s unique about the JK 195 line is their “trumpet” shaped baffle design.
They ensure consistent shot patterns and don’t destroy your wads as they pass through the suppressor. That means you won’t get a lot of plasting shavings building up in your can that need to be cleaned out.
The other great feature is the 195’s choke end caps. JK’s 195 cans come with a cylinder bore end cap standard, but you can buy improved cylinder, modified or full choke caps. That makes JK’s 195 suppressors incredibly versatile and customizable, letting your tailor your shot pattern for the distance you’ll be shooting.
