I have to admit, I like eye-searing tactical lights as much as the next person. There’s something satisfying about turning night into day. In reality though, a lot of times we just need a bit of light for mundane things like finding a key hole in the dark, or navigating a path. For routine uses like that a small light works great, and Streamlight’s Nano Light II is a perfect choice for those tasks.
The Nano II
Streamlight’s Nano Light II is an ultra-compact LED keychain flashlight that provides steady, bright light for one hour of run time using a single AAAA alkaline battery. It’s made to fit on a keychain or zipper pull, where it will be handy and available for every day use.
The Nano II is just 2.2 inches long and a bit over a half inch wide. It only weighs 0.6 ounces so it definitely isn’t going to weigh you down. The new Nano II is twice as bright as its predecessor, the Nano Light. It has an output of 20 lumens, 120 candela, and a beam distance of 22 meters. That may not seem like a lot on these days of multi thousand lumen lights, but that’s plenty for most daily utility use.
It’s constructed of machined aircraft-grade aluminum and has an anodized black finish. Its white LED is impervious to shock and has a 50,000-hour lifetime. It has a snap hook connector that can be used with one hand so you can easily access the light when you need it. Operation is by means of a rotation on/off head switch. The Nano Light II is extremely affordable too, with an MSRP of just $17.00 and it comes with Streamlight’s Limited Lifetime Warranty.

I like the concept, but it is too small. I will lose it. It I put it on my key chain, it will cause me to lose all of my keys.
Had one, it was a give away thing my brother picked up. Brand new in package. Worked one time. Did not bother with a replacement.
No thanks. I prefer my orange colored Cabelo’s flashlight. It’s about the same size as the Nano II but has a much taller black activation button. Which makes it easier to use with just one hand.
Also , the orange color makes it easier to find in a dark room. Or at the bottom of a black lined bag.
probably triple a as opposed to quad a battery. there are tons of single aaa torches. very handy.
“probably triple a as opposed to quad a battery.”
Preach it, I have to search around to find AAAA batteries, any gas station has triple-A batteries…
i stand corrected, i was suggesting the article had a typo. there is a aaaa size that i was unaware of. so, tiny but lower run time.
