HAPPENING NOW: Congress is marking up a bill that would allow unlicensed and untrained people from other states to carry loaded weapons in public — regardless of a state’s pre-existing regulations.
In America, you are 26 times more likely to be shot and killed than people in other high-income countries. Passing a mandate to allow loaded, hidden guns would dramatically increase this likelihood.
Imagine walking to your local park or to your school or around a town fair and not knowing who is carrying a firearm in the crowd. It’s no surprise that states that have passed these mandates see higher rates of gun violence.
These laws also make it harder for police to identify who is a credible threat, leading to increased violence and distrust. That’s why this bill is opposed by the nation’s law enforcement officers, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
This legislation has been on the gun industry’s wish list for decades and is one of the largest threats to public safety in recent memory.

So when police are profiling potential threats, CCW permit holders top the list? Does Brady have the data for that claim? These groups aim their messages at the uninformed/shallow/emotional people that already tend to vote for Democrats. I think more people will begin to tune them out. Dems became the boy who cried wolf.
