Top Shot was probably the most entertaining shooting-oriented show ever to air. Beside being entertaining and including competitors that many in the shooting community new, it aired on the History Channel, a more mainstream outlet than, say, the Outdoor Channel or the Sportsman’s Channel.

Sadly, Top Shot didn’t last as long as many of us would have liked. But the Outdoor Channel’s American Airgunner Challenge does a good job of trying to capture the fun of Top Shot, only with airguns. And if you’re not familiar with guns that don’t run on powder, you’ll probably be surprised at what airguns can do.

The upcoming season is being sponsored by Benjamin Airguns . . .

Benjamin Airguns, a leading manufacturer of high-quality air rifles and pistols, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the American Airgunner Challenge, which can be seen on the Outdoor Channel or streamed on FrndyTV.com. The thrilling competition showcases eight skilled competitors, including Benjamin’s sponsored contestant, Larysa Switlyk, as they vie for the 2024 title and a $25,000 prize.

The American Airgunner Challenge puts contestants through a series of heart-pounding weekly challenges, testing their skills in bullseye shooting, trick shots, and various airgun-related tasks. Viewers can expect nail-biting competition as participants demonstrate their marksmanship under pressure.

Larysa Switlyk, Benjamin’s sponsored contestant, brings a unique background to the competition. A professional hunter, conservationist, and certified public accountant, Switlyk’s journey in shooting sports began during her time at the University of Florida. Since then, she has become a renowned figure in the hunting world, having traveled to over 60 countries and hunted more than 120 big game species.

“We’re excited to have Larysa Switlyk represent Benjamin Airguns in this year’s American Airgunner Challenge,” said Joe Brown, Vice President, Marketing and Product Development. “Her passion for outdoor sports and dedication to conservation aligns perfectly with our brand values. We believe her participation will inspire more people to experience the precision and excitement of airgun shooting.”

Switlyk is also the host of her own award-winning hunting and fishing television show, “Larysa Unleashed,” which airs on the Pursuit Channel. Additionally, she has founded a nonprofit organization, Unleashed Outdoor Education and Wildlife Conservation Inc., dedicated to introducing more women and children to outdoor activities and promoting wildlife conservation.
