Senate Bill 25-003 was originally an outright ban on the sale or purchase of most semi-automatic rifles or shotguns that take detachable magazines, but was amended to allow purchases if an individual secures a “firearms safety course eligibility card.”
The fact that I draw from information learned at a young age due to the absence of any formal training about firearm safety in medical school is an embarrassing reflection on this clear shortcoming in our medical training.
