Ketanji Brown Jackson Demonstrates Exactly the Kind of Firearm Expertise We’d Expect in a Supreme Court Justice

When it was time for the Biden Department of Justice to present its side [in Garland v. Cargill] to the Court, Justice Clarence Thomas asked what happens, according to the FPC, “with the trigger in a bump stocked rifle vs a full-auto rifle.”

Please don’t wet yourself laughing when you read the government’s response.

My 14-year-old self, forever trapped in 1983, would have just one thing to say to a rifle that would let me fire 600 rounds a second: “BITCHIN’!”

Justice Jackson, with images of Chuck Norris killing an entire battalion of Vietnamese soldiers with a single magazine in “Missing in Action 2: The Beginning” still fresh in her mind must have thought, “600 rounds? I raise you 200 rounds to 800 — each and every second.”

Anyway, this was Jackson’s contribution to the discussion.

…Do I really want an AR-15 that can fire 800 rounds per second? I mean, assuming I could find a magazine with that kind of capacity? No, obviously. The barrel would melt, the bullets would spray all over the place, and I’m having trouble imagining what would happen when 800 brass cartridges go flying out all over the range in a single second.

That one second would also put a serious dent in my .223 stash.

Still… what a glorious second that would be.

  1. here’s the thing about left wing anti-gun, the believe everything they make up is real.

    600 rounds/sec
    800 rounds/sec

There is no semi-auto rifle on the commercial market, on planet earth, AR-15 or not, that fires 600 or 800 rounds/sec – not even if you put a bump stock on it or any sort of automatic trigger pulling device on it even if you belt fed it or had an actual 600 or 800 round ‘magazine’ supply of ammo for it. Heck, the human finger isn’t even capable of moving to activate a semi-auto trigger, bump stock or not, 600 times a second, If humans could move that fast we would all be ‘Theo’ in the Matrix like.

If a commercially available semi-auto rife, AR-15 or not, were capable of firing 600 or 800 rounds/sec we would have already known about it and there would be advertisements for it and the government would have presented videos showing such but for some strange inexplicable reason manufacturers don’t say that and there are no videos of such, ever. Hmmmmm…the Illuminati at work here again I guess, keeping the rest of us in the dark (like literally the whole world) and secret mystical knowledge that no one else on earth knows except the ATF and zippy-the-wonder-slug slow brained Ketanji Brown.

    1. Heck, even a M134 minigun or M61 Vulcan cannon “only” does 100 rounds per second (6000 rpm). And that’s with multiple barrels, and electric or hydraulic systems driving the action.

800 rps (48,000 rpm) would literally melt a barrel on an AR/M weapon in *very* short order.

But hey, what are facts when they get in the way of the narrative?
